METHODS OF DANCE were formed by Antonis (Tony) Koutsoyiannis in 1983 in Thessaloniki, Greece. Started as a duo with Evangelia (Lynn) Bountoulousi on main vocals. On autumn 1983 Avrilios (Avril) Koukoutsis joined on electronic drums/programming.
Lynn left the group on summer 1984. Tony took on vocals and continued with Avril as a duo. By the end of 1985 Avrilios left the band as well. Tony continued writing and recording as METHODS OF DANCE until 1989-1990.

The 6 demo recordings on this EP come from their very first homemade tape. The original 1983 “First” tape included 9 tracks and on this 6-track vinyl reissue, the “A Method Of Dance”, “Motion Of Heart (Instrumental Version)” & “Lasting Hope (Vocal)” are omitted/not included. All were recorded sometime between November to December 1983 in Tony’s bedroom. A Casiotone 301, a Yamaha MR10 Analog Drum Machine, a microphone and a 2-track tape recorder were used. Only three copies were made, in hand-made sleeves, one for each member. Only one copy (Tony’s) has “survived”. On that date, Tony was 18 years old, Lynn and Avril 17.
Original 1983 sleeve design by Avrilios Koukoutsis.
