YOUNG AND COLD SAMPLER VOL.7 – Gothic File 22-3

Wenn zwei sich finden sollten, weil es eine völlig natürliche Kombination ist, dann sind es YOUNG & COLD RECORDS und das (seit über 30 Jahren in unterschiedlicher Ausprägung erscheinende) GOTHIC-Magazin von Martin Sprissler. Nun wird GOTHIC als gedruckte Ausgabe eingestellt und zum Abschied haben die Macher sich noch einmal etwas Besonderes überlegt. Neben ein bisschen Wehmut und Abschieds-Artikeln/-Umfragen stellt man ausführlich YOUNG & COLD RECORDS vor.

Ein informatives Interview mit den Machern, ein Interview mit der Label-Band RUE OBERKAMPF und die persönlichen Lieblings-Veröffentlichungen der drei Köpfe hinter dem Label. Und natürlich wäre das nur halbgar, wenn nicht auch Musik auf der beiliegenden CD zu hören würde.

Extra für die Veröffentlichung des Szene-Magazins hat YOUNG & COLD RECORDS einen Überblick über das aktuelle Labelprogramm zusammengestellt. Da finden sich viele Acts, die seit 2020 Platten veröffentlicht haben aber auch als Appetizer einige neue Acts, die erst in der näheren Zukunft ihr Label-Debüt veröffentlichen werden.

Die musikalische Mischung reicht dabei von Electro über Darkwave, Postpunk und Gitarren-Wave bis zu Electro-Pop,wobei durchweg eher eingängige und tanzbare Tracks ausgewählt wurden. So werden das Magazin und die dazugehörige CD zu einem perfekten Einstiegspunkt in die vielfältige Welt von YOUNG & COLD RECORDS…von hier aus kann man dann tiefer in das Programm eintauchen und ein paar neue Lieblingsbands finden.

If two should find each other, because it is a completely natural combination, it would be YOUNG & COLD RECORDS and GOTHIC magazine (which has been published in different incarnations for over 30 years) by Martin Sprissler. Now GOTHIC will end its way as a printed edition and the makers have thought of something special to say goodbye. In addition to a bit of melancholy and farewell articles/surveys, YOUNG & COLD RECORDS are presented in detail.

The magazine offers an informative interview with the creators, an interview with the label band RUE OBERKAMPF and the personal favorite releases of the three people behind the label. And of course that would only be half-baked if there weren’t also music to be heard on the accompanying CD.

YOUNG & COLD RECORDSS has compiled an overview of the current label program especially for GOTHIC magazine. There are many acts that have released records since 2020 but also, as an appetizer, some new acts that will only be releasing their label debut in the near future.
